Community Notices
Hello Families and Friends of St Mary's,
Week 3 at St Mary's has been extremely busy with an external school review. Our results were great, and this review acknowledges and confirms what an amazing team we are at St Mary's. Thank you to the parents who helped our panel understand the hard work we do each and every day for your children, and to the amazing team of Educators here who work so hard, I am very very grateful! Also a very big thank you to all the students who spoke to our panel about our little school, student voice is very important to us!
Tell Them From Me Survey
Please keep an eye on Compass and your emails for a link to complete this important survey. This survey, completed by parents helps us to understand the things that are working well in our school, and where we can do better. It should only take 5 to 10 minutes and I thank you in advance for your support.
Child Safeguarding
Child Safeguarding is taken extremely seriously in our school community. Our staff are regularly trained in child protection and the processes we need to follow if we have concerns about a child. If you would like more information, please follow the link to our school website here.
Barrmarrany Girrwaa (Family Group)
After a very successful first meeting, we are looking forward to running another family evening. We will have a guest speaker, a delicious dinner and child minding will be provided. The date will be Thursday, the 12th of June. I look forward to seeing many of our families there.
Looking forward to another wonderful Term with you all,
Nadine

In the last week of Term 1 Jayden, Harry, Mason, Ariana, Alexis, Adrian, Regent, Tavyen, Thomas, Cory and Aaliyah represented the school at the Rick Stone Rugby League Gala Day at Coronation Park Nambucca Heads playing 7 a side tackle footy. We played games against Macksville Public, Frank Partridge and Nambucca Public scoring plenty of tries, making plenty of tackles and overall having fun playing footy. All the students played well and it was great to see the kids who don't usually play footy on the weekends getting in and having a go. Great work team- Mr Troy (Sports Co-Ordinator)

What a big day we had at St Mary's on Thursday the 10th April for our Easter celebrations. We started the day with a Community Breakfast at 8am followed by the Easter Hat Parade and Easter raffle.

On the 25th April some of our teachers and students marched and commemorated ANZAC Day through the main Street of Bowraville. Aaliyah read a poem in front of the assembly. Harry & Joe placed a wreath from St Mary's on the cenotaph. Thankyou to our parents for bringing our students during the school holidays to march in the ANZAc day parade.

On Friday the 9th St Mary's held a Mother's Day Afternoon. There was a photobooth run by Sarah Jae Miles, polymer clay, afternoon tea and pampering. It was great to have our families in our school spending time with us.

Kinder have been doing 'Language Lift' sessions and learning positioning works in FIRST/NEXT/LAST sequence. They were able to have a hands on session by making fairy bread and donuts. During this time they had to work out this sequence e.g first you need the bread, then butter and a knife and lastly sprinkles.
Students also created their own cafe and a menu!

Year 3/4 visited Bowraville Central School to participate in their school market day that included the products of Year 7 & 8's Boss Day. The highschool students were given $20 to create a stall/activity. Students were given 'boss bucks' to spend at these stalls. There were many different innovative activities such as Hair braids, games, raffles, slime and jewelery to purchase.

Class 3/4 have been working on number fluency and persuasive text as shown by Djanaambi and Yininnidee.

Learning Club and their fabulous artwork! Some of their artwork was included in our school display at the Macksville Show.

Last week was Eco art club (using recycled materials) with Miss Mady and jewelery club with Miss Brooke.
